Katch Interiors was founded in 2007 by sisters Steph and Pamela Katch. The Katch sisters spent their early years in the San Francisco Bay Area, an enclave known for its refined informal sensibility, fresh air and resplendent eucalyptus trees. Northern California climate and culture were the backdrops for what would become a serendipitous juxtaposition of their family’s aesthetic worlds.

Their father brought a relaxed mid-century influence that immersed the Katch girls in easygoing patterns, clean lines and the fluidity of indoor/outdoor living. By contrast, their mother’s more formal East Coast sensibility was an unconventional complement to the spirit of California modernism. This overlapping of eras and penchants was the beginning of the shared reference that most clearly influences the sisters’ sensibility to this day.

Steph and Pamela’s shared allegiance speaks to an intuitive desire to marry the contemporary, iconic and traditional under one roof; To welcome the play of scale and proportion – of negative space, color, pattern and light; To design with intentionality for function, while emphasizing the beauty of form. Each Katch interior becomes a dialogue between the polished and the informal. Nuance and spontaneity allow each project to reveal its highest potential.

Their mission on every project is to create a space that evokes a charismatic and timeless nonchalance – one that singularly reflects the character of their Clients.

The Katches’ work has been featured in Elle Decor, AD, The New York Times, and various other publications. Pieces from Katch Originals have also been included in several books, most notably Brooklyn Design and Warehouse Design. Steph and Pamela’s award-winning Kitchen designs have been featured by both Interior Design Magazine and Hamptons Cottage and Gardens. Katch Interiors specializes exclusively in residential spaces.
